We’re in for a pretty nasty storm. My take? With this frozen ground, the snow’s going to stick and build up quickly. NOT going to be a nice commute on Monday, I’m sure. But for now, French Toast for everyone!
Tune in to the French Toast Alert System for upcoming information.
So far, my favorite post is about getting some of the last eggs at Roche Bros.
I hit the market super early this morning, and have plenty of flour to make bread, and eggs, milk and cat food. We’re all set for a few days.

Hope the powers that be keep that airport clear tomorrow (late) so the Cambridge Kids can return home safely. I love french toast!

Snuggle in for the rest of the week-end. We are only supposed to get from 1/2″ to maybe 2″ – but, you never know with the weather.
Am staying in until it is safe to drive on the streets…(means No snow or ice on the road!)
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the power stays on!

But by all that is holy, did you get syrup?! A crisis of Biblical proportions if you have no syrup (or brown sugar and butter, if you live in my house) for your French toast!

Hey, we were just in your neck of the woods at Trinity Church for Candlelight Carols. Now we’re home and ready to hunker down and eat french toast in the morning!

looks like it’s all finished down here…about a foot on the ground…snowed from 6a sat to midnight…
so I did laundry and read and knitted and baked. What did I bake, you ask? Red velvet cake with cream cheese icing, beer bread, and a sour cream pound cake for my workplace on monday. fun times!
and no, I did NOT go to the grocery store on friday like all the other crazed weasels – I keep a 2-3 week supply of essentials on hand at all times.
enjoy the white stuff!

And vanilla. Must have vanilla for French toast.
Was hoping for some of that snow here nut it didn’t happen. Bummer.

Oh, goodness!! I remember the Blizzard of 77-78 very well. Thank heavens I lived on a farm and we grew most of our food. We owned cows, so milk was no problem. And we owned chickens, so that took care of the eggs, but bread!!! Thank heavens we had gone to the grocery store the day the blizzard hit. We were saved!!!
Of course, now I want French toast for breakfast.

I love it!!! We have Sam Champion and given what I ran into Fri night at the grocery, he must have predicted severe! If your storm is anything like ours (it’s still snowing), you’ll get a lot of craft time in! Happy French Toast.

I was explaining the French Toast Storm warning to hubby this morning and his comment was “Yeah but how do you cook it if you’ve got no power?” Power fails frequently in the country.

Stay safe and warm. And enjoy that french toast! I put sugar, almond extract, cinnamon and cloves in with the eggs, and you don’t NEED syrup.

Oooh, French toast. now i’m hungry. But reading Anne Marie’s post certainly didn’t help, either!
Stay warm. Got scarves?

Well, we lucked out here 75 or so west of Boston – got a dusting – broom snow
Which makes me very happy since I dropped a piece of firewood on my foot yesterday and broke my wee toe
Life is just a bunch of ups and downs LOL
Be warm and travel safely.

We were one of the first people out on the sidewalks today. We had a hankering for sausage with our pancakes and needed to get to the store.

It’s great that Harvey Leonard features so prominently
I hit the grocery store early and it seems the French Toast level was severe even then. A Waffle Alert is a good substitute, too.
