While doing my impromptu dyeing the other day, I also decided to try my hand at dyeing a single white silk scarf. Can I just say that I think it may become a new addiction. What’s the term, a hoot and a half? It was genuine fun to take that white scarf, soak it for a while, and then dyeing it. Watching the colors move and blend like in a runny watercolor painting left out in the rain.

This silk has such an iridescent quality to it. And the way to colors just blend and wash across the piece…

It was a HUGE temptation to resist taking a black Sharpie marker to it and putting little black dots all over it like a watermelon! But, I did resist that urge. Instead, I just ran around the apartment with it billowing in the air and having the cats chasing after me. How could I resist? Something this beautiful just brings out my Inner Fag…

Dyeing silk scarves is fun. Of course, I can’t get past the vision of you running through your apartment with the scarf billowing in the breeze you created. I doubt if I’ll get much work done with that in mind.

Oh, isn’t that just like a field of spring blossoms? How pretty! Gosh, when do you ever take down-time?

Everyone should let their inner child play. Fags and madwomen often do. Swoosh!
Gorgeous scarf! Wayyyy fun! Mind those claw-snags.

And what’s wrong with letting your inner fag out occasionally? I let my inner bitch out sometimes too – LOL

The close up photo is total yummage! Can’t believe you didn’t get snags all over it from your helpers. Mine would have tried it.

I think if you had a hundred of these silk scarf blanks it still wouldn’t be enough to try all the dyeing experiments it invokes!

Beautiful! Now I’ve got Roxette’s song “watercolors in the rain” stuck in my head… which is much better than the holiday alternatives
